Boomerang
Engineering started building and repairing Mining and Transport
equipment in 1963.
It
steadily grew from a two man operation and before too long found
itself riding the mining boom that lasted well into the 1970's.
During this time staff members increased to over 100 and a second
facility was established in the suburb of Belmont Western Australia,
which the company still operates from today.
With
Perth, Western Australia, being a long way from almost everywhere,
quite often problems have to be solved in house. This has resulted
in many innovative products, most of which we hold Patent pending
or Design Patents on. Examples being:- fully
load sharing cable suspensions (suitable for low loaders
to 350
tonne), a cantilever rope door assy for side tippers,
axles with detachable stubs to 45
tonnes, end tippers to 110
tonnes.
Our
manufacturing has grown to also include our own fifth wheels and
heavy duty trailer couplings. These days our products can be found
from Africa
to South East Asia
and of course throughout Australia.
Boomerang
Engineering is now regarded as one of the premier suppliers in
Australia. Our cliental reads like a who's who of the mining and
transport industry, a large proportion of which, are repeat customers.
Our "can do" and innovative approach that has carried
us through from inception continues to prevail today.
The
company is still owned and operated by one of the original families
that founded Boomerang all those years ago.
"We
have a strong commitment to our customers and are continually
upgrading our equipment, manufacturing and business systems to
ensure that we remain innovative and at the cutting edge of our
profession" says Marco De Filippis,
Managing Director of Boomerang Engineering, "We are looking
forward to an ongoing and controlled growth into overseas markets
and an even stronger consolidation here in Australia. We are all
looking forward to the years ahead."
